Falmouth Eversource Work Continues On Bikeway, Surf Drive

Town officials said crews will continue to work along the Shining Sea Bikeway ahead of cable-pulling activities scheduled later this winter.

FALMOUTH, MA — Eversource's work on a new submarine line between Falmouth and Martha's Vineyard is ongoing, with new adjustments for the Shining Sea Bikeway this week.

Town officials said crews "will continue to work intermittently along the Shining Sea Bikeway ahead of cable-pulling activities scheduled for later this winter."

Work will continue through the winter months and is anticipated to be completed by early spring of 2025.

The bike path will be closed between Ter Heun Drive and Locust Street for the duration of construction.

The Depot Avenue parking lot, located at 81 Depot Ave., is also closed for the duration of this work.

Surf Drive, also part of the project, will face adjustments this week as crews continue replacing the water main between Mill Road and Shore Street.

A portion of the Surf Drive parking lot, located at 56 Surf Dr., will be cordoned off and closed for the duration of this work, officials said.

The Mill Road parking lot, located at the corner of Mill Road and Surf Drive, is also closed for the duration of this work.
