FERC approved ISO-NE's Order No. 2023

ISO New England, the grid operator, has suspended all System Impact Studies under the previous serial interconnection process.

On April 4, 2025, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved ISO-NE’s Order No. 2023 compliance filing to transition to the new interconnection process.

SouthCoast Wind’s SIS will now transition to the new FERC Order No. 2023-compliant interconnection process starting on October 10, 2025.

An ISO New England System Impact Study evaluates the effects of proposed interconnections or transmission service requests on the power system's reliability. These studies assess various factors, including thermal, voltage, stability, and short-circuit analyses, to ensure that new projects do not adversely impact the existing system.
