Falmouth Police: Man Posed As Child Care Worker
Falmouth police said a man posing as a Department of Early Education and Care investigator visited several homes in town.

FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth police issued an alert for a man who posed as a child care worker and visited several homes in town in recent days. Police said the man pretended to be an investigator with the state Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
The man "has gone to family child care homes in the Falmouth area posing as an EEC licensor or investigator in an attempt to gain access to the home," Falmouth police said in a statement. "Please be advised that EEC licensors and investigators will always present official state photo identification when visiting any home or program. In addition, EEC staff will not visit a program unannounced on a Saturday or Sunday."
Police said anyone with information about the individual should contact them at 774-255-4527.

Police added, "If an individual arrives at your program stating that they are from the Department of Early Education and Care, please ask for their name and to see their official photo identification. This identification will bear the individual’s name, photo, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ state seal. EEC staff will never use a driver’s license as identification."
