FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth police on Wednesday announced they will conduct undercover alcohol compliance checks "throughout the remainder of 2018." The checks will target bars, restaurants and other establishments that sell alcohol.

"This activity could consist of using an underage operative to purchase alcohol, monitoring businesses for underage activity and making sure businesses have permits and (alcohol sales) literature properly posted," Falmouth police said in a statement.

Falmouth police typically conduct the checks each year during the busy summer season.
