Falmouth Power Outages Down To 800

Falmouth power outage update: a historic storm knocked out power to more than 450,000 in Massachusetts.

FALMOUTH, MA — Power was restored to most of Falmouth Sunday night after Friday's historic nor'easter. As of Sunday at 1o p.m., there were 825 still without power in Falmouth, according to Eversource. That figure represents 3 percent of town. At the height of the storm, more than 75 percent of Falmouth lost power.

Statewide, more than 80,000 were still without power Sunday morning.

Friday's storm whipped up wind gusts approaching 100 mph in parts of the state. More than 450,000 lost Friday night across the state.

"Because the winds have caused extensive damage to the electric system, we are still assessing the damage," Eversource said in a statement. "We do not have restoration times right now, but will provide them as soon as we can. We appreciate your patience as we continue this important work.
