Falmouth Schools Will Open Late Due To Road Conditions
School officials have instituted a two-hour delay due to road conditions related to continued snowfall.
FALMOUTH, MA — Barnstable students will get a few extra hours to sleep in on Tuesday.
District officials announced that Falmouth Public Schools would institute a two-hour delayed opening on Tuesday, citing road conditions posing potential issues for school buses.
"With the continued snowfall early this morning, additional time is required to have all roads cleared prior to the school buses running by the DPW," school officials said.

"The district's priority is to ensure the safety of our students and staff at all times."
There will be no morning pre-school and no YMCA before-school programs on Tuesday, officials added.

A winter weather advisory will be in effect in eastern Massachusetts Monday from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. The region could see up to 6 inches of snow.
The forecast calls for the heaviest snowfall coming Monday night, resulting in difficult travel conditions. Wind gusts of up to 35 mph are also expected.
