Noise questions remain as a solar farm consists of inverters, batteries, and panels that work together to create an efficient energy system. The solar panels generate electricity, the inverters convert it from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) for use, and batteries store excess energy for later use, ensuring a continuous power supply.

# Note Smith Hollow, Edgartown, in 2014 was a quiet neighborhood. The installation of a new municipal solar farm added a new sound: incessant humming, drowning out the other sounds at several Smith Hollow residences.
As soon as the solar project started operation, inverters, the part of the system that converts direct current from the sun to alternating current, began emitting noise on sunny days. Neighbors complained.......The noise issues were not addressed before the project started.
