Falmouth Stabbing At Drug Den: Man Arrested

Police said Michael O' Connor, wanted in connection with an attempted murder in Falmouth, was found hiding in a Yarmouth basement.

FALMOUTH, MA — A fugitive wanted in connection with an attempted murder at a Falmouth drug den last month was caught hiding in a basement in Yarmouth this week, police announced Wednesday. Michael O'Connor, 34, of Yarmouth, was charged with a host of crimes related to a stabbing in Falmouth. On Monday, police tracked him to a Yarmouth residence.

"The suspect initially attempted to escape by going out a back but went back inside when he saw a Police Officer," Yarmouth police said in a statement. "Officers made a forced entry in to the home and found the suspect hiding in the basement."

O'Connor was charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and drug conspiracy related to the stabbing January 15 in Falmouth. Police said they found a 29-year-old Mashpee man with stab wounds at a drug den.
