Housing Assistance to Hold Info Session for Five New Homes Developed by Falmouth Housing Trust

New homes will be available for purchase through a lottery for qualifying applicants.

Housing Assistance invites potential homeowners to a Zoom virtual info session for five new houses for sale in Waquoit Village, Falmouth, on Wednesday, September 17, at 6 p.m. Interested buyers can register for the info session, which will be held on Zoom, at haconcapecod.org/lotteries. The session will cover information about the houses and the lottery application process.

The five homes are in a brand-new development, located at Bigelow Landing Road, formerly 419 Waquoit Highway in the Waquoit Village area of Falmouth. Three two-bedroom and two three-bedroom homes will be sold through a lottery process at prices ranging from $265,000 to $410,000, depending on size, and AMI (Average Median Income) limits of up to 80 to 120 percent.

Falmouth Housing Trust has built the homes and Housing Assistance is overseeing the lottery. Applications will be available Sept. 15 at haconcapecod.org/lotteries, at falmouthhousingtrust.org, and at the Falmouth Housing Trust office at 17 Academy Lane, Falmouth. The deadline to apply is Friday, November 14, at 5 p.m. The lottery drawing will be held within 14 days of the application deadline.

This new development is the result of the collaborative work of the Falmouth Housing Trust, The 300 Committee Land Trust and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, to acquire the land for protection of open space and water resources and for affordable housing, as well as the financial support of many private donors and the Town of Falmouth Affordable Housing Fund. The Waquoit Village Center location is ideal for work-force housing, particularly since it allows for pedestrian access to services, employment and public transportation.
