Legos at the Library, Affordable Housing Committee Meeting

1. The Falmouth Public Library will host Legos at the Library today from 11 a.m. to noon. Children, ages 5 and up, can drop in. Please don't bring your own legos.

2. Today's only meeting will be the Affordable Housing Committee, which will meet at Falmouth Town Hall at 3 p.m.

3. The third annual David's Old Silver Swim will take place at Old Silver Beach in North Falmouth on Saturday, Aug. 17. The open water half-mile or one-mile swim is a fun swim with all proceeds going to Compassionate Care ALS. To learn more, visit www.davidsoldsilverswim.com.

4. Join Boston's Dave Russo for an evening of comedy at the Popponesset Inn, 252 Shore Drive, Mashpee. 5. Today is a big day for famous birthdays. Heartthrobs Jennifer Lawrence, 22, and Joe Jonas, 23, share a birthday. As do Oscar-winner Ben Affleck, who turns 40, and Napoleon Bonaparte, who died 192 years ago.
