1 Dead After Cape Cod Motorcycle Crash

A 24-year-old died from injuries sustained in a Mashpee motorcycle crash on Friday night.

MASHPEE, MA — A 24-year-old is dead after a Friday night motorcycle crash on Cape Cod, police said.

Acting Mashpee Police Chief Thomas Rose issued a news release over the weekend confirming that one person died after the crash at 10:54 p.m. on Friday.

Rose said the motorcyclist hit a pole in the area of Old Barnstable Road and Kelly Road. Officials arrived at the scene to find the man lying in the road unconscious. They immediately began CPR on the victim.

The motorcyclist was transported from the scene to Falmouth Hospital, but officials said he was pronounced dead before they arrived.

Rose said the driver appeared to lose control of his motorcycle, leaving the roadway onto the shoulder of the road before hitting the utility pole.
