Naukabout Brewery's Peter Murner Shares His Super Bowl Party Go-Tos
Want to bring a dip to impress your friends and family? Naukabout's Peter Murner shared a recipe with Patch that'll do just that.
FALMOUTH, MA — The NFL’s biggest game of the year is this Sunday. Though some have chosen to focus on superstar travel plans, odd prop bets and other facets of the weekend, here at Patch we’re locked in on what’s important: Food.
There’s just one problem, and it’s that we aren’t experts. So we’ve gone the college football route and recruited people who know much better than us what makes a good Super Bowl party snack, main course and even what you should plan to drink.
Patch reached out to some of the best sports bars, breweries and others in the industry to collect some intel on what the area’s best and brightest culinary minds are planning for their festivities.

Naukabout Brewery owner Peter Murner uses the Super Bowl as a time to catch up with family and enjoy a full spread with them, that is if he isn't hard at work at the brewery.
Murner's go-to, for this year at least, is a contribution to the dip table. He shared with us how to make it, and what he believes tops the Super Bowl party food pyramid.

Questions are listed in bold.
Are you a supporter of any NFL team, and are you a yearly Super Bowl viewer?
Patriots all the way!
Do you go out or stay home for the Super Bowl (if you aren’t working)?
I've got two young children so — if I'm lucky enough to be off work — we cook up a tasty spread together and watch the game as a family.
In you’re opinion, what is the best Super Bowl party food?
This is a tough one. You can't beat a beer brat paired with a sauerkraut, but if we are talking shareable, nachos. You can make any style and variety - veggie, pulled pork, buffalo chicken.
What’s your go-to dish if you’re attending a party or watching at home?
6 Layer Taco Dip: Ground beef, mango salsa, shredded cheese, jalapenos, topped with sour cream and olives layered on cap. Change out the protein and salsa to fit your preference and get yourself some of those scoop-style tortilla chips...You'll be golden!
Football beer or drink of choice?
The key to selecting your beer for the big game is that it's a marathon, not a sprint. You want to pick a lighter, lower ABV beer you can enjoy from pre-game until the game wraps. This year I'll be enjoying our Cape Lager for the big game for these very reasons. It's light, local and goes with any gameday bites!
Pick for this year’s game?
Got to go with Purdy and the 49ers this year.
