Pedestrian Injured In Cape Cod Crash

A 72-year-old Cape Cod resident was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Bourne.

BOURNE, MA — A Cape Cod resident was evaluated at a local hospital after he was hit by a car on Thursday, police said.

On Nov. 30 at about 4:45 p.m., the Bourne Police responded to a car crash involving a pedestrian around 880 Sandwich Rd.

A 2008 Volvo C30 struck a male pedestrian who was crossing the road. The driver of the Volvo was a 65- year-old woman from Sandwich, and the pedestrian was a 72-year-old Bourne Resident.

The pedestrian had serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, police said. Boure Rescue responded and transported the male pedestrian to an area hospital.

Sandwich Road was shut down between Adams Street and Commonwealth Avenue for approximately two hours as the Bourne Police, the Cape Cod Law Enforcement Council Accident Reconstruction Team and the Barnstable County Bureau of Criminal Investigation processed the scene.
