Snow Causes Bourne Bridge Backup On Cape Cod

BOURNE, MA — Snow is finally here on Cape Cod, and that news isn't welcome for drivers on Wednesday morning.

Overnight snow caused slick roads in Bourne, which led to a minor accident at the East Rotary, police said.

Additionally, a disabled bus on the Bourne Bridge has "snarled" traffic on Scenic Highway Wednesday morning.

As drivers try to reverse course, Bourne police have issued a statement regarding u-turns. In short: Don't do it.

"Making a U-turn on Scenic Highway is not only very dangerous, it is also illegal," police said.

"The danger of these U-turns is exasperated by the snowy road conditions, which make it difficult for vehicles to stop when they are not expecting a vehicle that is making a three point turn to be blocking the travel lane."
