Step Inside History: “Houses of the Revolution” Historic House Tour Returns to Falmouth
Join the Falmouth Historical Society for a rare opportunity to explore some of the most storied private homes in Falmouth.

FALMOUTH, MA – On Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 12:00–4:00 PM, the Falmouth Historical Society - Museums on the Green invites the public to experience a rare journey into the town’s Revolutionary War past with the Houses of the Revolution Historic House Tour. This self-guided tour offers an exclusive look inside some of Falmouth’s most remarkable private homes—ranging from elegant seaside mansions to classic Cape-style residences—all with connections to the Revolutionary era. Guests will discover architectural treasures, learn the untold stories of the families who lived there, and see firsthand how Falmouth residents shaped and experienced the nation’s founding years. Proceeds benefit the Fix Wicks Campaign, a major restoration effort to preserve the 1790 Dr. Francis Wicks House—home of a Revolutionary War veteran and centerpiece of the Museums on the Green campus. The Society, a nonprofit committed to keeping the museum free and open to the public, also uses event proceeds to support free children’s programming year-round.
How It Works Participants will begin their day at the Falmouth Museums on the Green – Cultural Center at 55 Palmer Avenue, where ticket pickup begins at 11:00 AM. Each ticket holder will receive a keepsake booklet with a map, driving directions, and detailed histories of the featured homes. Guests may then visit the properties at their own pace and in any order.
