PROVINCETOWN, MA — Provincetown's annual celebration of Tennessee Williams is set to return this weekend on Cape Cod.
The 18th annual Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theatre Festival actually got underway with two events on Wednesday, but the bulk of the action is scheduled from Thursday through Sunday across the community.
For 2023, the festival "will launch Tennessee Williams’ lifelong fascination with Science Fiction & Fantasy into the 21st Century," a description read.

"Adventure-seeking audiences voyaging to Provincetown will thrill to performances of plays and dramatic short stories by Williams that feature spaceships, aliens, vampires, ghosts and bizarre imaginary worlds. From his teenage years to the months before he died, writing science fiction and fantasy freed Williams to boldly explore his fears and hopes for the future," it continued.
