Vehicle Fire Reason For Cape Cod Bourne Bridge Shutdown
The bridge was closed for 30 minutes on Monday after a vehicle caught on fire, officials said.
BOURNE, MA — It didn't take all of an hour for officials to reopen the Bourne Bridge after it was closed on Monday, but traffic was impacted during the morning.
A vehicle fire was the cause for the shutdown, Bourne police said on social media, prompting a bridge closure in both directions.
Massachusetts State Police and the Bourne Police Department assisted the Bourne Fire Department in putting out the blaze, with mutual aid from Sandwich and Wareham.
