Your Guide: Third Annual David's Old Silver Swim

The Third Annual David's Old Silver Swim, a benefit for Compassionate Care ALS in memory of David Garber, will be held at Old Silver Beach on Saturday, August 17.

The mile and half-mile races will be timed electronically for the first time.

The fundraiser is a natural activity to honor David, who enjoyed long ocean swims, often braving jelly fish and cold temperatures.

David was diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease, in 2009. Throughout his battle with the disease, David and his family received support from Compassionate Care ALS.
