Red Sox Catcher Blake Swihart's Brother, 23, Dies

Romell Jordan, the adopted younger brother of Red Sox catcher Blake Swihart, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, the team announced. The team did not announce the 23-year-old's cause of death.

Swihart left the team to be with his family, who have asked for privacy. Jordan was adopted by the Swiharts in high school.

Jordan played running back at the University of New Mexico.

"It’s very tough," Red Sox manager Alex Cora said.
