Foxboro Honors Those Lost To Addiction With Flag Display

For the next few days, Foxboro Common will be lined with flags, representing an individual who has died due to addiction.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Leading up to Labor Day weekend, Foxboro Commons will be lined with multi-colored flags to raise awareness of those who lost their lives to addictions in Massachusetts over the past four years.

"The Stakes Are High," is an awareness event aimed to remember loved ones lost due to crisis.

At 10 a.m. this Sunday, survivors and family members who have lost loved ones will gather at Foxboro Common to hand out Narcan, an overdose-reversing drug, listen to speakers and hold a moment of silence for those lost.

Organizers say they hope the sea of flags will gain the attention of people driving by, making them realize how many people are dying from this and hope the recognition will help end the stigma of addiction.

Foxboro Commons is located at 1 Central Street between Main Street & North Street.
