Foxboro Man Found Dead After Hours Long Standoff With Police
Foxboro police have identified the man who they say threatened to harm himself during a barricade with police officers Friday.
FOXBORO, MA — A man was found dead in his Foxboro home Friday afternoon after an hours-long barricaded standoff with police and a bomb squad.
Initial police reports came into the Foxboro Police Department just after 9:30 a.m., for a possible resident in need of assistance relating to an "isolated and contained incident" on McKenzie Lane.
Police say a man, later identified as Jeffrey Scott, 43, had a gun and was threatening to harm himself outside the home.

Once emergency crews and several other law enforcement agencies, including a bomb squad and SWAT team, arrived at the house, they say the man was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Foxborough Police Chief Michael Grace said no responding law enforcement officers discharged their weapons.
"When the subject did not respond to calls from family or police, we were able to deploy a robotic camera into the home," Chief Grace said. The images shown allowed officers to enter the home, where they say the man was already dead.
