Marfan syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the body's connective tissue, which holds the body's cells, organs, and tissue together. The connective tissue affected by Marfan plays an important role in helping the body grow and develop properly.
Because of Cameron's struggles, the Allen family "has been made to appreciate the things that other families with teenagers take for granted, such as playing sports, diving into water or wrestling with buddies without medical risk," explained Allen in a statement.
