Foxborough's Light Uptown Back And Better In 2022

More funding, more lights and more events are making this year's celebration the biggest yet. Here's what to know.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Everything is bigger and better this year when it comes to Foxborough's annual Light Uptown holiday event.

Scheduled for Saturday with events starting as early as 9 a.m., Foxborough officials claim that this year's event "will be the biggest and brightest Foxborough has seen."

That's thanks in large part to a reorganization within Town Hall which transferred recreation to the oversight of human services, and a $150,000 contribution from Schneider Electric last year, officials said.

"With Recreation now under Human Services banner, along with Veteran’s Services and the Council on Aging, HS Director Marc Craig and Rec Division Director Renee Tocci have combined their efforts to create a fun, family friendly, holiday event," officials said, in a news release.

What that means is more lights on the Common Tree, but also an addition from Red Nose Holiday Lighting and Décor, which has decorated 10 tree trunks with lights, added garland around the Common’s fencing as well as additional lights and decorations.

On Saturday, Center Street will be shut down for a vendor market starting at 4 p.m.

There are over a dozen activities including a craft fair at the Senior Center, kids crafts, the vendor market, a "sl-hay-gh ride", Victorian carolers, a holiday story time, a dance performance and more, all leading up to the tree lighting.
