Heat Advisory Issued In Foxborough, Town Opens Cooling Centers
The heat index could climb to 100 degrees in much of New England, with a heat advisory in place until Thursday night.
FOXBOROUGH, MA — The National Weather Service issued a heat index for much of New England on Wednesday, including Foxborough.
This advisory began at 11 a.m. Wednesday and will last until at least 8 p.m. on Thursday, barring any extensions.
Temperatures are expected to hit 93-degrees in Foxborough on Wednesday, but NWS officials say the heat index could reach 100 during the advisory. Hot temperatures and high humidity could cause heat illness during the advisory, they warn.

Experts recommend staying hydrated, and finding an air-conditioned room out of the sun during this heatwave. Child and pets shouldn't be left unattended in vehicles during this time, they add.
For those without air conditioning at home, the town will open cooling centers at the Council on Aging, Boyden Library and, over the weekend, the public safety building on Chestnut Street, according to The Foxboro Reporter.

Town pool hours will also be extended past 3 p.m. during the week, and past 6 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
