Jerod Mayo's Ex-Dog Trainer No-Shows Court Appearance
An arrest warrant has been issued for Amelia Ferreira, who is accused of lying to police about the death and location of Mayo's dog.

WRENTHAM, MA — The ex-dog trainer for former New England Patriot Jerod Mayo's dog was not present for her scheduled appearance in Wrentham District Court Wednesday.
Amelia Ferreira, 41, of Cranston, is facing accusations that she lied to police about the death and location of Mayo's dog Knox. Her no-show means that a warrant has been issued for her arrest, according to the Sun Chronicle.
Ferreira originally told police that she was walking Knox and another dog around Joe's Rock in Wrentham when Knox "simply vanished" while she was attending to the other dog. At the time, Wrentham Police call the circumstances of Knox's disappearance mysterious, noting that there was no blood or fur around the area where the dog supposedly went missing and the fact that English Bulldogs are not known for running due to their short legs and poor cardio.

In a letter to the paper, Ferreira denied killing Knox and apologized for not telling the truth about the English bulldog.
Ferreira is not expected to face any more charges due to an inconclusive necropsy. No evidence of trauma was observed on a full body radiography.
Ferreira is facing an obstruction charge in Cranston.
