Man Accused Of Robbing Foxboro Bank Gets 11 Years Behind Bars
The man accused of robbing the TD Bank in Foxboro center in January openly bragged of his robberies in Facebook posts, police say.

FOXBORO, MA — The man accused of robbing the TD Bank branch in Foxboro center earlier this year has been sentenced to over 11 years in prison for multiple bank holdups.
Matthew Alden, 27, of Lancaster, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Worcester due to prior robbery convictions, the U.S. District Attorney's Office said Tuesday.
In December 2020, Alden pleaded guilty to robbing banks in Leicester, Marlboro, and Shrewsbury between December 2019 and Feb. 1, 2020.

Court records show Alden was named in allegedly robbing the TD Bank at 54 Central Street after police say the suspect stole money from the bank and drove away.
The FBI arrested Alden at his home on Feb. 26, 2020, and had a list of banks in Massachusetts and New Hampshire with notes of hours of operation and other information, according to the U.S. attorney's office.

During the FBI's search, several items of clothing matched those worn in pictures during some of the robberies, police said.
Alden was ordered to pay $14,914 in restitution and will serve 11 years, two months in prison before he can start probation for three years.
According to court records, $14,914 is what police say is the total stolen in the three bank robberies he confessed to.
Police say Alden bragged about robberies in publicly available Facebook posts, according to records.
Once police searched Alden's phone, they found photos of him wearing clothing that matched those worn during the robberies as well as multiple photos of large sums of cash, and GPS locations that put him in the place of the robbery at the same time, according to court records.
In recommending a sentence of 12 years and 7 months, a prosecutor noted that during a four-month spree Alden committed nine robberies and one attempted robbery.
Alden's public defense representative said he was driven by drug addiction.
