Man Caught Selling Cocaine At Foxboro Town Horseshoe Pits: Police

Foxborough police said they've received several recent complaints of drug use and sales at the horseshoe pits during Monday night leagues

FOXBOROUGH, MA — An Attleboro man was arrested Monday after Foxborough police said they caught him selling cocaine at the town horse shoe pits on Elm Street. Ronal Sakey, 54, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a class B substance.

Police said they've received several recent complaints of drug use and sales at the horseshoe pits during Monday night leagues. Detectives and undercover officers took Sankey into custody after they saw him make drug sales and take a delivery from a vehicle known by officers as a source of drugs, police said.

Police said they seized a large bag of white powder believed to be cocaine, a scale and several small baggies. In addition to the drug charge, Sankey also has two outstanding warrant in Attleboro District Court.

"It should be noted that though the substance appears to be cocaine, according to the CDC there has been a dramatic increase nationwide in what end users believe to be cocaine actually testing positive for positive fentanyl," Foxborough police said in a statement. "Nearly 1 in 5 overdose deaths involve cocaine, and 57% of fentanyl overdoses also test positive for cocaine."
