The New England Patriots have finally gotten Tom Brady the receiving help he's going to need down the stretch run. The morning after the Patriots demolished the Jets, 33-0, the team reportedly traded for Atlanta Falcons veteran receiver Mohamed Sanu.

Sanu, 30, was acquired for a second-round draft pick. He's signed through 2020 and will provide another Rutgers player for coach Bill Belcihick.

Sanu has 33 catches for 313 yards and a touchdown for 1-6 Atlanta this season. He's coming off his two most productive seasons in the Falcons' high-flying offense: a combined 133 receptions for 1,541 yards and 9 touchdowns over 31 games.

The acquisition addresses a major need at receiver, which has been thin ever since the Patriots released Antonio Brown. Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon, if and when he recovers from an injury, will remain the top two receivers, and Philip Dorsett and Sanu are expected to be complementary pieces in the passing game.
