Patriots Suspend Michael Bennett For Conduct Detrimental To Team
The veteran defensive lineman has struggled to find his way onto the field. This likely won't help.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The Patriots suspended veteran defensive lineman Michael Bennett one week for conduct detrimental to the team, according to reports. Bennett, who did not practice Tuesday, will not play Monday night against the New York Jets.
"On Friday, I had a philosophical disagreement with my position coach that has led to my suspension," Bennett told ESPN Tuesday. "I apologize to my teammates for any distraction this may have caused."
Bennett, 33, is a three-time Pro Bowl pass rusher and Super Bowl champion with Seattle. The Patriots traded for him in the offseason to replace Trey Flowers, but Bennett struggled to find his way on the field for a defense that has dominated the league in historic fashion through the first six weeks.
