The New England Patriots have reportedly traded defensive lineman Michael Bennett to Dallas days after Bennett returned from a one-week team suspension. ESPN reported Bennett went to the Cowboys in exchange for a 2021 seventh-round draft pick that could become a sixth.

Bennett, 34, was suspended by the Patriots for what they said was conduct detrimental to the team and what he said was a "philosophical difference" with a coach.

"I got suspended, I lost money," Bennett told reporters after returning from suspension. "What am I supposed to take away from that? I mean, there’s no love lost, it’s just how it is."

Bennett, a Super Bowl champion and three-time Pro Bowler, had been used less and less in the Patriots' dominant defense. The Patriots acquired him from Philadelphia in an offseason deal.

Bennet will return to Gillette Stadium with Dallas Nov. 24.
