A new product from Tom Brady's TB12 Sports brand is raising eyebrows in light of anxieties surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. Brady announced the release of PROTECT, an "immunity blend supplement," on Monday, nearly two months after a similar supplement bundle was being sold on his website.

Turns out, not even a six-time Super Bowl champion can promise immunity: the container comes with a disclaimer stating the supplement is not approved by the Food & Drug Administration. Further, it "is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease," apparently working off a subjective definition of the word.

But the GOAT swears by it; in an Instagram post, Brady said he uses the product daily. The capsules contain vitamin C, larch tree extract and elderberry, and are sold as a 30-day supply. For a cool $45 a month, you can (allegedly) activate your immune system while countering "stress-induced immune suppression."

The Twitter mob rushed to chide Brady for the curious timing of his release, accusing him of capitalizing off the pandemic. TB12 CEO John Burns hit back against critics in a statement to Yahoo Sports.

"Now more than ever, it's important to have daily support for a healthy immune response as our bodies are subject to constant stressors that deplete its resources," Burns said.
