1. Today is the first day of school for the Class of 2019 at Framingham High. Freshman will have a half-day orientation today. Buses will pick up students today. Students will be dismissed at 10:45 a.m.
Tomorrow, Aug. 26 is the first day of school for Framingham Public School students in grades 1-12.
2. The Framingham Police Department welcomed a new police officer to its department yesterday. Steven Loud transferred from the Norton Police Department to Framingham.

3. The custodians and maintenance workers union of the Framingham Public Schools voted yesterday to reject the contract offered by the Framingham School Committee.

4. Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott held a ”convocation” with staff at Nevins Hall in the Memorial Building Monday morning. He talked about the need for the district to improve technology.
5. Neither Framingham Selectmen nor Framingham School Committee will meet tonight. Both are scheduled to meet next Tuesday, Sept 1.
