5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: September 28

Girl Scout registration tonight at the main Framingham Library.

1. Tonight Girls Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts will hold registration for Framingham Girl Scouts. Register your daughter to a be a Framingham Girl Scout at the main Framingham Library at 6:30 p.m.

Girls in grades K-12 may register as Scouts. Girls, who attend a Framingham-based school or live in Framingham may register with Framingham Girl Scouts. Registration fee is $25 for the 2015-16 year. Click here for more details.

2. The Town of Framingham is starting a project to make the Southeast section of Framingham, a better place for residents to live, play, work and shop! The public is invited to join the conversation tonight at Wilson Elementary School at 7:30.

3. FLYERS in action: Only the boys and girls freshman soccer teams are scheduled for games today.

  • Over the weekend, the Framingham High football team lost to the Wildcats of Weymouth 14-7. They are 0-3 on the season.
  • On Saturday the boys soccer team tied Natick High 1-1 in the 20th Annual George Wheeler Cup. The girls soccer team lost 5-0 in the Wheeler Cup game.

  • Marian High girls soccer will host Lowell Catholic at Merchant Field at 3:45 p.m.
  • The boys soccer team travels to Lowell Catholic for a 3:45 p.m. game
  • Girls volleyball travels to St. Joe’s today for a match.

5. Drivers who use I-95 in the late evening to early morning hours next week will have to seek alternate routes if taking the ramps to the Massachusetts Turnpike.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will be closing the ramps to the Massachusetts Turnpike from the I-95 interchange in Weston for pavement resurfacing and for bridge repairs.

These closures will take effect on a nightly basis between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights beginning last night, Sept. 27. There will be no access to I-90 eastbound or westbound from I-95 north or southbound during these closures.
