1. Singer-songwriter night at Amazing Things Arts Center. The headliner is Geoff Bartley, an acoustic folk/blues guitar player, singer/songwriter, harmonica player and recording artist, who won four guitars at the National Fingerpicking Championships in the ’80s. His last two CDs went to No.1 on Folk Radio

  • Framingham High’s Girls swimming & diving team have a scrimmage against Natick at 3:30 p.m. at Keefe Tech.
  • Golf team has a scrimmage at Natick away at 3:45 p.m.
  • Football team has a scrimmage at Holliston at 7 p.m.

4. Framingham State University’s volleyball team competes in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational today. First match at noon

5. Today is the 10th anniversary of National Wildlife Day.

  • National Wildlife Day, founded in 2005 and carried forward in the memory of animal lover and conservationist Steve Irwin, serves to bring awareness to the number of endangered animals nationally, as well as globally, that need to be preserved and rescued from their demise each year, and also to acknowledge zoos and outstanding animal sanctuaries and organizations globally for everything they do to help preserve this planet’s animals and educate the public about conservation - especially to children our animal’s future caretakers and conservationists.National Wildlife Day encourage citizens to stand up and fight for animals that need a voice, visit their local zoo and donate to worthy wildlife rehabilitation sanctuaries and organizations that make a difference in the lives of our beloved wild animal friends.
