AAA: Gas Prices Down 24 Cents In Past Month
A year ago at this time, the Massachusetts average price was $1.10 higher at $3.44.

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down six cents from last week, according to AAA Northeast, which has an office in Framingham on Route 9.
AAA’s Aug. 31 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.34 per gallon, down six cents from last week.
Prices locally are 24 cents less than a month ago.

The current price is 13 cents less than the national average for self-serve unleaded of $2.47.

“Falling gas prices spell good news for Labor Day travelers, who will benefit from the lowest end-of-summer prices at the pump in a decade, and are paying more than a dollar less for regular unleaded fuel than they were a year ago at this time,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast, in a press release.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 72 cents, from a low of $2.17 to a high of $2.89.
