AAA: Gas Prices Up For The First Time Since November

However, AAA Northeast says gas prices are still 75 cents cheaper than they were in March 2015.

FRAMINGHAM, MA - A rebound in oil prices plus refinery slowdowns for seasonal maintenance has sparked a recent increase in gasoline prices nationally, and those increases have reached Massachusetts, according to AAA Northeast, which has an office in Framingham.

AAA’s March 7 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.70 per gallon, two cents higher than last week.

The Massachusetts price is 11 cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $1.81.

A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 75 cents higher at $2.45.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 44 cents, from a low of $1.55 to a high of $1.99.
