Active Duty Framingham Firefighter Dies, Department Announces

The Swansea man was an active-duty firefighter in Framingham and previously served in Fall River.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Framingham Fire Department has lost an active duty member this week.

Framingham officials announced Monday that firefighter Keith Cashman, who has been with the department since 2015, has died.

Cashman was assigned to Group 3, Station 5, Rescue 1 at the time of his passing.

"He has honorably served the Fire Service for 15 years, including 10 years of dedicated service to the department and the citizens of Framingham," the department said, in a statement. "Rest in peace, brother. We’ll take it from here."

Cashman was previously a firefighter in Fall River from 2010 to 2015.

The Fall River Reporter reported that funeral services are scheduled for Friday in Fall River.
