Bicyclist Dead In Framingham Hit-And-Run

A 69-year-old Framingham man is charged with leaving the scene of the crash. Here's what to know.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A Framingham man is charged with leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in the death of a cyclist.

Paulo Castro, 69, of Framingham, is charged with leaving the scene of personal injury causing death after allegedly striking and killing a bicyclist in Framingham.

At approximately 9:50 a.m., Framingham Police responded to the area of Gorman Road and Concord Street for a report of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle. The involved vehicle did not remain on the scene.

The operator of the bicycle, a 43-year-old Framingham man, was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Framingham Police subsequently located the alleged operator, identified as Castro, and placed him under arrest. He is expected to be arraigned tomorrow at Framingham District Court.

The crash is under investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Framingham Police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision and Reconstruction Section.
