A Framingham deli was cited by health inspectors multiple times over the summer.

On Monday night, the Framingham Board of Health voted unanimously to place the restaurant on a ‘watch list’ to make sure it continued improvements.

Between July and August, inspectors for the Town of Framingham found numerous health violations at Kugel’s Deli, located at 855 Worcester Road in Framingham.

One of the major reasons for the violations was food not at “appropriate temperatures.”

Monday night Framingham Health Board member David Moore, reading the inspection reports out loud, said roast beef was 48 degrees, white fish was48 degrees, turkey 49 degrees, butter was found to be at 60 degrees, noodles at 100 degrees, and lox was found not at the right temperature to serve.

Inspections took place in July and August, with the last inspections on August 6.

One of the main reasons for the temperature issues was a unit 10 to 15 years old, which the owner told the Board of Health Monday night was repaired within 24 hours of the first inspection. A new deli case also was purchased and installed.

The Health Board voted 3-0 to have an inspector re-visit the deli within the next two weeks and again within the next six week, to make sure all problems identified have been corrected.

Inspectors also found food on the floor, unclean areas including a dirty stove top, and chemical bottles stored near food products.

“It’s a very long list of things,” said Moore.
