Staples CE Leaving Less Than One Year In Role

Shira Goodman is leaving Staples, Inc., which is based in Framingham.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—The current chief executive at Staples Inc. has announced she is leaving the company, according to reports.

Shira Goodman, less than a year after Sycamore Partners gained control of Staples, announced she is leaving, the Wall Street Journal obtaining a letter sent to employees confirming that, reports the Boston Globe.

The office supply retail giant, its headquarters in Framingham, at the end of June 2017 sold the company for $6.9 billion to Sycamore Partners.

According to Bloomberg, Goodman has held several executive positions since joining Staples in 1992,including senior vice president of Staples Business Delivery and senior vice president of Staples Direct. Previously, she worked at the consulting firm Bain & Co.
