City's DPW Picking Up Storm Debris: Get It To The Curb
Now's your chance to get rid of all those twigs, brush and other debris that was blown into your yard during the winter storms.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—Get it to the curb. The city is picking up all that collected storm debris from the Nor'easters of the winter.
All debris must be placed at the edge of the road by May 7. Storm debris to be collected should be 14 inches in diameter or less and does not need to be bundled or cut to specific length or dimensions. Trees, tree branches and brush will be collected; small twigs should be bagged in biodegradable bags only.
The city will not collect tree stumps, leaves, grass clippings or construction debris.

Residents should stack tree and brush debris at the edge of the road as neatly as possible, but should be careful not to obstruct the roadway or sidewalks, said the release. City employees will not enter private property to gather the debris.
According to the announcement, crews are working through the city in a systematic manner, accounting for construction crews and trash and recycling days to avoid conflicts. Different equipment will be utilized for different types and sizes of the storm debris and storm debris piles.

"What this means is that, although we are trying to collect debris in the same area at the same time, your neighbor’s pile may be picked up at a different time than yours given that it may require a different type of equipment to collect, or to be efficient in our operation," said the announcement.
The annual brush collection normally taking place on your trash day will be combined with this special collection. This special collection is not aligned with regular trash and recycling collection days.
The Yard Waste Facility on Dudley Road is now open for the season. Residents are still required to purchase a permit to utilize the facility. Permits can be purchased at the Recycling Drop-off Center located at 255 Mount Wayte Avenue during the hours of operation, Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or at the Public Works Facility located at 100 Western Avenue, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
