EDITOR'S PICKS: 5 Things To Do On Saturday, August 15
Avenue Q performance in Framingham, Dragonfly Festival in Ashland, Food Truck Festival in Marlborough, and Centre St. at Amazing Things.

These are my picks of things to do today in Framingham and MetroWest:
1. Tonight is the final performance of the musical Avenue Q by the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest. Featuring a cast of students from high school through college from MetroWest, the curtain rises at 7:30 at Dennison Memorial Hall at the Boston Church of Christ, 214 Concord Street in Framingham. Tony-winning musical Avenue Q is the hilarious and heartfelt story of a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York with big dreams and little money. Advanced tickets are $16 for adults and $14 for seniors and youths. Tickets will be $2 more at the door.
2. Amazing Things Arts Center will host the band Centre St. for a musical performance. Acoustic guitarist Talia Rubenstein will open the show. Music starts at 8 p.m. in downtown Framingham. Tickets are $8.

3. It is farm day at the Ashland Farmers Market today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by the market, located across the street from the Ashland Library, and visit with young animals from Justin Brown’s Newfound Farm in Holliston and Angel Hair Alpacas. Listen to the music of Center Music House musicians at the Arts Ashland Alliance Music Stage. The Open Space and Recreation Committee will collect food for the Ashland Food Pantry. There will be a BBQ and corn boil today, too. In celebration of Farm Day, The Carve is dishing up their slow smoked BBQ ribs & chicken, Sunshine Farm corn on the cob and house-made settlers beans.
4. Ashland is also hosting a Dragonfly Festival tonight from 4 to 8 at Mill Pond Park. Click here for a schedule of performances, including music and dance.

5. From noon to 5 p.m. today is the Marlborough Food Truck Festival, with almost 20 trucks. There is an admission charge, in addition to the cost of food and drink at each truck. Click here for more details.
BONUS: Today is the grand opening for the public of Thomas Land at Edaville USA in Carver. The 11.5 acre Thomas Land brings the Island of Sodor to life in a lush New England landscape. This is first Thomas the Tank Engine-themed amusement park in the United States.
Framingham Patch and Petroni Media Company sent a Framingham family to the media opening on Friday, Aug. 14. The family’s review will publish next week on Framingham Patch.
