Elderly Framingham Man Dies in New Hampshire Fire

Edward Dwinnell, 82, died in a fire in Albany, NH on Nov. 20.

Authorities in Albany, NH have identified Edward Dwinnell, 82, of 17 Cedar St., Framingham, as the victim of a fatal fire in their town Tuesday, Nov. 20.

New Hampshire State Fire Marshal J. William Degnan and Coway Fire Chief Stephen Solomon anounced Dwinnell's identity today.

Dwinnell died in a fire at 69 Crossover Rd. in Albany, NH, on Nov. 20, and was identified after an autopsy. The cause of death was inhalation of smoke and superheated gases.

Occupants of the house were alerted to the fire by working smoke detectors, according to a press release. One occupant of the residence, Annette Hines, was able to get to a second story window, where she cried out for help. Residents from the neighborhood walking by heard Hines’ cries for help and called 911.  Arriving firefighters located Hines and rescued her from the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
