Framingham Official, Former Rabbi, 3rd Man Nabbed In Child Sex Sting: Reports (patch.com) — Framingham residents are learning that a town planning board vice chair, along with two other men, was arrested in a joint sting by Massachusetts State Police and Framingham police targeting commercial sexual exploitation of children. Officers posed as underage individuals, leading to charges including sexual conduct for a fee with a child and attempted rape of a child, with all three suspects held on bail pending arraignment in Framingham District Court.
   

2. Framingham MA council plans vote on immigration ordinance. Here's why (metrowestdailynews.com) — Framingham City Council is set to vote in January on an ordinance that would formally limit when local police can honor federal civil immigration detainers. The proposal would bar holding people solely on ICE administrative warrants, require a judicial criminal warrant for detention, and mandate annual public reporting on detainer requests, transfers to ICE, and related costs.
   

3. Framingham MA Youth Council seeks applicants for 13 seats. How to apply (metrowestdailynews.com) — Young Framingham residents can now apply for all 13 seats on the city’s Youth Council, with applications open through Jan. 31. If you’re 13 to 22, live in Framingham, and want a voice in city government, this council advises officials on youth issues and meets monthly under Open Meeting Law.

Framingham MA Council on Aging seeks nominations for 'Senior Heros' (metrowestdailynews.com) — Framingham’s Council on Aging is now accepting nominations for its 2026 Senior Heroes Awards, honoring residents 60 and older who make a difference through volunteer service. Four Framingham residents will be chosen, with former public officials eligible if they’re not currently employed by the city. Nominations are due by 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 9 via the city website.
   

5. A Costly Recipe: Flat-Rate Pay, Long Hours, and Retaliation Lead to DOL Consent Judgment (jdsupra.com) — Two Framingham restaurants, Samba Steak and Sushi and China Gourmet, have agreed to pay $215,000 and overhaul their pay and recordkeeping practices after a federal investigation found wage and retaliation violations. Coming on top of a prior $250,000 settlement, the case highlights how flat monthly pay for long hours can trigger serious penalties and underscores workers’ rights during government investigations.
