Flyers in Quarterfinals of WGBH's High School Quiz Show Tonight
The Framingham High team will battle Belmont High at 6 p.m., in a previously taped episode.

Eight Massachusetts high school academic teams advanced to the quarterfinal round of WGBH’s High School Quiz Show after besting their opponents in the first round.
Tonight, April 11 at 6 p.m. on WGBH 2 it is Framingham High School vs. Belmont High School.
This is Belmont’s academic team first time in the quarterfinals. Framingham has qualified for the quarterfinals before.

“It’s been a very competitive season and a lot of that can be attributed to the fact that participating teams are now comfortable with the game format. It’s exciting to see strategy really coming into play,” said High School Quiz Show executive producer Hillary Wells in a press release “Congratulations to the top eight teams moving on to the quarterfinals.”
Hosted by Billy Costa, High School Quiz Show is produced and broadcast by WGBH.

The sixth season of the program concludes on Saturday, May 16 with the Governor’s Cup Challenge.
WGBH’s High School Quiz Show state champion team will meet New Hampshire Public Television’s Granite State Challenge winner for the third annual interstate quiz show face-off.
High School Quiz Show is endorsed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education and the Massachusetts PTA.
The Princeton Review judges the televised competition and reviews the program’s questions. Questions on the show are aligned with the Massachusetts high school curriculum standards in subjects that include literature, history, science and math, as well as current events and general knowledge. Major funding for High School Quiz Show is provided by Safety Insurance. Additional funding is provided by Massachusetts Teachers Association, XFINITY from Comcast, Harvard Summer School Secondary School Program, Bentley University and Subaru of New England.
