Framingham-Based Prelert Recognized As Emerging Vendor

The company is provider of machine learning anomaly detection solutions for IT security and operations teams.

Prelert, a provider of machine learning anomaly detection solutions for IT security and operations teams, announced it has been named to The Channel Company’s exclusive 2015 CRN® Emerging Vendors List.

The annual list features up-and-coming technology vendors that have introduced innovative new products, creating opportunities for channel partners in North America to create high-margin, cutting-edge solutions for their customers. The vendors recognized this year have demonstrated a commitment to developing new technologies to meet growing market demands.

Prelert’s Anomaly Detective uses data science, in the form of unsupervised machine learning, to analyze and cross-correlate millions of data points in near-real-time, automatically baselining normal behavior patterns within the data and identifying statistical outliers that may represent a successful breach, exfiltration, or other problematic activity.

It eliminates the need to set static thresholds and rules that return too many alerts when they’re set too strictly, or miss important activity when they’re not strict enough, so organizations can detect and mitigate malicious and/or problematic activity in near-real-time.

“Solution providers continue to keep their finger on the pulse of emerging technology in order to stay ahead of customer needs. The exciting technology vendors recognized in this year’s Emerging Vendors List don’t disappoint—the innovative technologies they bring to the table provide channel partners with product options that will propel their success into the future,” said Robert Faletra, CEO of The Channel Company, in a press release. “We congratulate 2015’s Emerging Vendors for their outstanding efforts and for delivering cutting-edge technology solutions that will continue to evolve the IT channel.”

“IT security teams know they’re constantly under attack and they’re working tirelessly to protect their organizations, but they don’t have the tools they need. Traditional security and operations tools are just not capable of identifying threats and problems as quickly and accurately as required to keep up with today’s environment,” said Mark Jaffe, Prelert’s CEO, in a press release. “With machine intelligence, Prelert can help security and operations teams detect attacks and problems more quickly, reduce the number of false positive alerts and accelerate root cause analysis. Our channel partners are an important component of offering our capability to organizations across geographies and vertical markets.”

Companies included in CRN’s 2015 Emerging Vendors list were founded in 2009 or later and are actively working with channel partners in North America.

Prelert has its headquarters in Framingham.
