FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Michael Myers "Halloween" franchise is a stalwart when it comes to seasonal films, and Framingham residents now have another reason to watch the latest in the series.

"Halloween Ends" is the third installment of the most recent "Halloween" trilogy, and it features Framingham's own Andi Matichak playing a premiere role alongside Jamie Lee Curtis.

Matichak first starred in the role of Allyson in David Gordon Green's first entry into the series, 2018's "Halloween." She was born in Massachusetts, but raised primarily in the Chicago suburbs.

The film trilogy centers on Jamie Lee Curtis playing an older version of Laurie Strode, who, in her non-teen years, is dealing with PTSD from, you know, being chased by a deranged killer for all those years. Matichak, as Allyson, plays Strode's granddaughter.

"Halloween Ends" opened Friday in movie theaters, and led the box office with about $41 million. The movie also available to stream now on Peacock, NBC's streaming service.

In an interview with Salon, Matichak explained what working with Curtis brought to her career and process, articulating what it means to work in such a storied franchise and with an actor of Curtis' stature.

"She leads by example every day and anyone who comes in contact with her really feels that," Matichak told Salon.

"The one that I go back to probably once a week, and I just hear her voice in my head say it when I need the reminder, is 'Be where your feet are.' She said that to me once. I was panicked about something that was happening in a couple of days, and she just grabbed me by the shoulders like hey, 'Be where your feet are.' Be here. Be here now. Be present. If not, you're going to take it for granted and you're going to not live in an honest way. So, just be here."

Matichak was also the lead actress in a 2021 film called "Son", which was her first time as the true lead of a film. She told The Hollywood Reporter that she again leaned on what she learned from Curtis for that experience.

"Watching Jamie Lee Curtis and Judy Greer navigate a set and lead on set was invaluable," Matichak told the publication. "I was able to take that into the filming of Son and know how to approach being a leader on set and how to do it with grace, strength and kindness. So it feels like a blessing that I was able to have them in my corner, especially so early on in my career."
