"Attendance at the breakfast will present a unique opportunity to meet and discuss your concerns and hear the position of each of the candidates in attendance. We will be hearing statements from all Democratic town-wide office candidates, as well as introducing the Democrats who are present and running for Town Meeting Seats. There will be an opportunity to hear from all Democratic candidates for Charter Commission seats also," said the press release from the Framingham Town Democratic Committee.
"This year there are several hotly contested races in town. Long-time Selectman, Charlie Sisitsky, the current Chair of the Board will be running for his 7th term on that Board. There are two non-incumbents running, Town Meeting Member Deborah Butler and Cesar Monzon, a former School Committee Member and former EDIC Chair," said the press release.
"Eric Silverman will be running in his second election for School Committee. Professor Silverman is a Department Head and Professor of Anthropology and Education at Wheelock College, and is a life-long educator. Ricky Finlay is running to return to the School Committee, which he has served on previously, and is known for his strong work ethic and his desire to serve the best interests of the students. Mr. Finlay works for the Wellesley Public Schools.
They are running against Heather Connolly, who is an incumbent and has served our schools as a School Committee Member for four years, and is currently the Vice-Chair of that Board," said the press release.
The Library Board of Trustees is also contested with five candidates running for four seats, three of whom are incumbents: Robert Dodd, Elizabeth Fideler and Ruth Winette. The non-incumbent candidates are Steven Malchman and William Wray.
In addition to the Democratic candidates in the contested races, we will hear from Democratic candidates for Planning Board, Keefe Tech School Committee, and the Housing Authority.
The Framingham Democratic Town Committee will also be holding its election of officers for the coming four-year term.
The Nominating Committee will set forth its proposed slate, and further nominations will be taken from the floor. Voting is open to all members of the Committee.
Finally, there will be a discussion and vote on changing dates for two upcoming meetings.
As always, the Town Committee will be collecting food and household articles for donation to Framingham’s shelters. All members are asked, and all guests are encouraged to bring imperishable food items of household goods to add to our donation.
All members are encouraged to bring breakfast items to be served that morning, although the usual breakfast feast will be served. Although there is no charge for this event, a $5 donation is encouraged to help defray the meal cost, said the release.
