Framingham Names New Assistant Superintendent

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Framingham School Committee has unanimously approved the district's next assistant superintendent for PreK-12 Education.

Anne Ludes will step into the role on Aug. 1.

"I am excited about the prospect of returning to work in Framingham, the community I love and in whose schools my children were educated," said Ludes. "I look forward to supporting the educators, staff, administrators, and families as we empower students to reach their full potential and foster an environment where everyone is valued and able to thrive. I’m grateful to Superintendent of Schools Robert Tremblay and the search committee for their confidence in me, and I look forward to the full consideration of the School Committee."

Ludes began her educational career as a math teacher at Framingham High School (FHS) in 1996, leaving in 2000 and returning in 2007. Since her return in 2007, Ludes has held positions in the Framingham Public Schools as Math Department Head, FHS Associate Principal, Director of Secondary Education, and Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education.

In 2021, she left to lead Mass Academy of Math and Science at WPI in Worcester as the school’s Director.

"I am thrilled to welcome Anne Ludes back home," said Tremblay.

"Even though several years have passed, it feels like yesterday that Anne and members of the district’s leadership team, the Framingham Teachers Association (FTA), and the Framingham School Committee were working around the clock to blaze a path forward during the global pandemic. Anne was one of the primary instructional architects of that educational plan in addition to being the author of the educational program that served as the driver for the Fuller Middle School project. The list of quiet accomplishments and the successful completion of seemingly impossible puzzles is too long to cite in this announcement. When I think of words that best describe Ms. Ludes, these come immediately to mind: problem-solver, partner, collaborator, listener, learner, and advocate."
