Massachusetts Native Katie Nolan Takes Home Win On 'Celebrity Jeopardy!'

Sports commentator and Massachusetts native Katie Nolan won the contest during a tiebreaker round against actor Christopher Meloni.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Katie Nolan, the sports commentator who hails from Framingham, added another item to the evergrowing list of things that can make residents of her hometown proud.

Nolan was a participant on Wednesday's episode of "Celebrity Jeopardy!", where she played for the Association of Women in Sports Media.

As is typically the case on the celebrity version of the show, the money generated during the game is then donated to that organization. In the case of the Association of Women in Sports Media, they have Nolan to thank for their most recent donation.

Nolan generated the highest scores in Jeopardy, Double Jeopardy and Triple Jeopardy, and tied with actor Christopher Meloni, triggering a tiebreaker round.

During the "Celebrity Jeopardy!" tiebreaker, the first person to buzz in with the right answer is the winner.

The category for the tiebreaker was French history, and the question read: "Drink up! A famous New Orleans street is named after this dynasty that ruled France for most of the 17th and 18th centuries."

Nolan was quickest on the buzzer, answering correctly with "What is Bourbon?", moving her forward to the "Celebrity Jeopardy!" semifinals.

No date has been set for the semifinals.

Nolan, an accomplished broadcaster with an Emmy Award for "Garbage Time with Katie Nolan", competed against Meloni and Sherri Shepherd, who currently hosts a daytime talk show, "Sherri", and was formerly on "The View".
